Volunteer Appreciation Lunch

The Council on Aging recognized volunteers at an appreciation lunch for their vital contributions to the elderly community.

Last week the Council on Aging proudly hosted the annual Volunteer Appreciation Lunch to recognize and celebrate the dedicated individuals who generously give their time and talent to support the elderly community.

Held at the Senior Center on May 1, under the direction of Jan Conole and staff, the event brought together volunteers, staff, and community members for an afternoon of gratitude, good food, and shared stories. The luncheon highlighted the vital role volunteers play in making programs, events, and services possible throughout the year.

“On behalf of the staff and myself, I want to express our heartfelt appreciation for everything you do throughout the year. We truly could not offer the robust programs and valuable resources that make our center so special without your commitment to helping others”, said Jan Conole.

Jan also stated, “In the past year alone, volunteers dedicated more the 20 thousand hours of service to the senior center–an incredible contribution valued at more than $200,000. Each year the Executive Office of Aging and Independence provide us with formula grant funding to help support this luncheon, recognizing the essential work volunteers do for local Councils on Aging within communities.”

The COA, Jan and staff extend its heartfelt thanks to all volunteers for their continued support and invites others in the community to get involved and make a difference.
