The popularity of Senior Trips requires a new policy.
Chairperson Donna Bell called the meeting to order at 3:01pm. Members in attendance were Sandy Creamer, Tracy Skahan, Robert Herrick, Kathleen Walsh, Joan Unger, Mary-Ann Nichols, Jeff Defour, Michael McDermott and Virginia Desmond. Joanne Aldrich was absent.
The meeting minutes of August 19th, 2025, and the YTD financials were discussed and unanimously approved on a voice vote.
Director Jan Conole presented the October Calendar of Events. Please check the October edition of the Senior Moments newsletter for the dates and times for the many events happening during the month. A few highlights include the Consignment Boutique Intake, Silvertone’s Dance, DJ Dance/Lunch, and two Friday Movie days.
There will be a new addition to the weekly schedule called Drop-in Tech Help, available on Wednesdays from 10 AM to 11 AM. If you need assistance with your phone, tablet, or computer, this is a great opportunity to get one-on-one help. Please call Tammy at 978-640-4480 to reserve a time.
Additionally, don’t forget to join the Center for the Egg-ceptional Breakfast on Sunday, October 26th. Doors open at 9 AM, and no reservations are necessary—just come hungry and ready to enjoy a great meal!
Please note that the Center will be closed on Monday, October 13th in observance of Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Good news—new boilers have been installed, so no more cold mornings! Plus, the A/C in the gift shop has been repaired for a more comfortable visit.
New interns from Salem State University and Boston College have begun their rotation. One intern will shadow Heather Barnard and will continue the focus on veterans’ issues.
A new “trip policy” will go into effect in January 2026. The policy can be seen in the September issue of Senior Moments.
A Flu Clinic is scheduled for October 2nd with the Public Health Nurse, Ashley Pavlakos BSN RN . Call Tammy at 978-640-4480 to reserve a time. Be sure to watch for an additional COVID and FLU clinic in November through LeTourneau Pharmacy.
Free Fares on the LRTA buses have been extended through June 2026. This includes rides provided by the COA.
The Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks will be hosting their annual Turkey Dinner for older adults in Tewksbury and Wilmington. They will be combining both towns into ONE NIGHT. Each town will have 150 tickets to disperse. The dinner will be on Monday, November 6th. Please call the Senior Center for tickets.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:50 PM, with the next meeting scheduled for October 21st, 2025.
