Bayberry at Emerald Court Senior Living Earns Top Honors at Tewksbury’s Taste of the Town Competition

TEWKSBURY, Mass.Bayberry at Emerald Court, a Northbridge senior living community offering Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care in Tewksbury, proudly earned two top awards at this year’s Taste of the Town competition, receiving both the Best Presentation Award and the Tasters’ Choice Award for its creative, BBQ-inspired menu.

A longtime participant in the annual community event, Bayberry at Emerald Court has showcased its culinary team at Taste of the Town since 2019. The event brings together local restaurants, caterers and food establishments to celebrate the area’s diverse culinary talent. As the only senior living community participating, Bayberry continues to demonstrate that exceptional dining is an integral part of the resident experience.

This year’s award-winning menu featured:

  • Bourbon BBQ Meatloaf Cupcakes with whipped mashed potato topping
  • Fresh Corn Succotash
  • Warm Apple Pie Pops served with French vanilla ice cream

The menu was designed by Culinary Director Andrea D’Angelo, who drew inspiration from residents’ favorite comfort foods while adding a creative twist that reflected Bayberry’s vibrant dining program.

“For this year’s competition, I wanted to showcase how creative you can be with some of our residents’ favorite comfort foods, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and apple pie,” said Andrea D’Angelo. “These are classic meals our residents know and love, and we enjoy finding ways to elevate them while preserving the flavors and memories they bring. I also chose this theme because it reflects the BBQ-inspired cookouts we host every other week throughout the summer. These cookouts bring together residents, families, associates and local first responders to enjoy great food and build meaningful connections. Winning both Best Presentation and Tasters’ Choice is an incredible honor because it recognizes not only our team’s culinary creativity, but also the pride we take in creating memorable dining experiences and fostering a true sense of community every day at Bayberry.”

At Bayberry at Emerald Court, dining is about more than serving delicious meals. Chef-prepared cuisine, seasonal menus and resident favorites are thoughtfully crafted to create opportunities for connection, conversation and celebration. Whether it’s themed events, holiday meals or weekly cookouts, the culinary team plays an important role in bringing residents, families and the surrounding community together.

Receiving both the Best Presentation Award and the Tasters’ Choice Award highlights Bayberry’s commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience while challenging perceptions of senior living. This recognition reflects the same creativity, quality and hospitality residents enjoy every day within the community.
