The facility at 686 Clark Rd. has Select and Planning Board signoffs in hand
686 Cultivation LLC will hold a virtual community outreach meeting on Jan. 17 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed siting of an adult use cannabis cultivation and product manufacturing facility at 686 Clark Rd., a 6,300 square foot, industrial-zoned building that currently houses Chuck’s Tree Service.
Interested residents can get a copy of the meeting presentation ahead of time by emailing r.rutenberg@vicentellp.com. Members of the community will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers from company representatives about the proposed facility and operations. The 686 proposal is for a cannabis cultivation and product manufacturing operation. This is a separate license from the one remaining retail cannabis license; cultivators may not sell to the public. The Cannabis Control Commission regulates cultivators with stringent security and odor control measures similar to those at retail outlets. Tewksbury’s town counsel has reviewed the host community agreement, and the HCA was approved unanimously by the Select Board at the Dec. 20 meeting. The day before, the Planning Board unanimously approved the special permit with a few caveats.
The Select Board also approved the virtual Zoom community meeting format.
686 Cultivation LLC principals are Jeff Derby, who owns Derby Auto Body in Dracut, and Michael Sacchone, owner of Tewksbury’s MDR Construction. The working timeline for opening is about 14 months, with about five employees to start and minimal traffic impact expected. Hours will generally be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
