Boston, MA — A new celebration of horror cinema is coming to Boston this fall with the launch of Midnight Fest, a six-day horror film festival running from October 1 to October 5, 2025.
The festival was founded by Joseph Keane, a filmmaker and storyteller from nearby Tewksbury, MA, who has long dreamed of creating a community event focused on the indie horror scene. After years of saving money and working in the film industry—including serving as Associate Producer on the indie horror film Cotton Fever—Keane is proud to bring this passion project to life.
“Boston deserves a festival that highlights the creativity and diversity of horror films, especially from independent voices,” said Keane. “Midnight Fest is a chance for local fans and filmmakers alike to connect, celebrate, and experience some of the best new horror cinema out there.”
The festival will showcase a mix of feature-length films and shorts from emerging and established filmmakers, alongside panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and special midnight screenings. Midnight Fest aims to foster community engagement and provide a platform for local and regional talent.
