Valentine’s Speed Dating at the Senior Center

A Valentine’s Speed Dating event will be hosted at the Senior Center on Friday, February 12th!

Speed dating is a fun and efficient way to meet new people!

Speed dating for seniors is a fantastic way for older adults to meet new people, form friendships, and even find romantic connections in a fun, social environment. The Tewksbury COA/Senior Center is teaming up with several surrounding communities to offer this FREE event for adults age 65+, which will be hosted at the Tewksbury Senior Center.

Here’s how it works: The goal is for each person to meet up to twelve other local, single seniors through a series of six minute “predates or conversations.” The Senior Center facilitates the whole thing so there should be no awkwardness, pressure, embarrassment, or games…

What are the Benefits of Speed Dating for Seniors:

  • Social Connection: Provides opportunities to meet people outside regular social circles.
  • Low Pressure: Short time limits keep the conversations light and easy.
  • Age-Specific Focus: Events are tailored to mature participants with similar life experiences.
  • Efficient: Meet several potential matches in a single evening.

Tips for Attending:

  1. Be Yourself: Authenticity makes for the best connections.
  2. Prepare a Few Questions: Focus on open-ended questions to learn about the other person.
  3. Stay Positive: A friendly, open attitude goes a long way.
  4. Follow Up Promptly: If there’s mutual interest, reach out soon after the event.

After the event, we will contact you to let you know if you’ve made a match! (More than two-thirds of speed daters match at least one person.)

Friday, February 14th, 9:30 – 11:30. Space is limited! If you would like to attend, please contact Susan Timmons at 978-640-4480 ext. 303 to register.
