Friday Night Lights: Tewksbury Football Home Opener

Tewksbury High’s Varsity Football Team is hosting Haverhill High School at 7pm at Doucette Stadium (135 Pleasant Street). This is the Redmen’s home opener.

Meanwhile, the TMHS field hockey (at Methuen High), volleyball (at Billerica High) and swimming teams (at Greater Lowell Tech) are also all in action. See today’s sports schedule HERE.

Tewksbury Police Department To Hold Car Seat Check Event

The Tewksbury Police Department is holding a free Car Seat Check Event from 2:30pm to 4:30pm outside the Northern Middlesex Regional Emergency Communications Center (987 Whipple Road). Have your car seat checked by a trained car seat technician. Contact Mandi Summers at mandi.summers[at]baystatehealth.org with any questions.

Silvertones Concert at Tewksbury Senior Center

The Tewksbury Silvertones is holding its monthly concert, from 7pm to 10pm, at the Tewksbury Senior Center (175 Chandler Street). The band holds concerts on the third Friday of every month, September through June. Come listen and dance to a variety of music, including Waltz, Latin, Jitterbug, Foxtrot, Big Band, Line Dances and more. Doors open at 6pm. Soda and water are available for purchase. Free coffee and tea available all evening with cake served during the second break. Tickets cost $10 per person and can be purchased at the door.

Tewksbury Town Clerk To Hold Voter Registration Session

The Tewksbury Town Clerk’s Office (1009 Main Street) is holding a Voter Registration Session from 7:30am to 5pm for voters who wish to register in-person to vote. For residents who are not yet registered to vote, today is the final day to register in order to be eligible to vote at the Special Town Meeting on Tuesday. October 1, 2024. Learn more HERE.

Weekly Car Show In Papa Gino’s Parking Lot

Members of the former Merrimack Valley Car Club organize an Antique Car Show on Friday nights, from 4pm to dark, in the Ocean State Job Lot/Papa Gino’s plaza parking lot (553 Main St.).

Weekly Bingo Night At St. Williams Church

Tewksbury Public Library To Hold “Mothers’ Instinct” Film Screening

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding a film screening of Mothers’ Instinct at 1:30pm. Alice and Celine live a traditional lifestyle with successful husbands and sons of the same age. Life’s perfect harmony is suddenly shattered after a tragic accident. Guilt, suspicion and paranoia combine to unravel their sisterly bond. Starring Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain. Drama/Thriller. R. 1 Hour, 34 Minutes. Candy & water will be served. Tewksbury Public Library To Hold Rock ‘n Roll Webinar

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding a webinar — “Early Rock Song Origins” — at 2pm via ZOOM. Relive a dozen early day Rock and Roll songs, compare them to their non-Rock and Roll original versions, and examine how the adaption from classical themes to Rock ‘n Roll standards was accomplished so successfully. 4 Fitness Classes @ Tewksbury Senior Center

The Tewksbury Senior Center (175 Chandler Street) is hosting 4 fitness/wellness classes today:

  • Walking Club (8:30am)
  • Bone Builders (9:30am)
  • Meditation (11am)
  • Line Dancing (11am)

Most fitness/wellness class fees are paid either by the month OR by purchasing a punch card. Punch card cost is $35 and allows seniors to attend 10 classes of their choice. Cards can be purchased in the Senior Center’s Office. Seniors may drop in to try any of the fitness/wellness classes for FREE. Please note Bone Builders classes and the Cardio Drumming class are grant-funded with no cost to participants but do require registration to participate. Call the Senior Center at 978-640-4480 with any questions.

The Senior Center is also hosting its monthly Left-Right-Center game. Seating begins at 11:45am, lunch is at 12:15pm, and the game starts at 1pm. The cost to play the game, which includes pizza, salad and a dessert lunch, is $5 per person. Players should also bring $3.00 in quarters to place. Advanced sign-up was required and is now closed.

Live Music @ TJ Callahan’s Pub

TJ Callahan’s Pub (1475 Main Street) is offering live music with Mostly 90’s, beginning at 9pm. 3 of 6 plays hits from the 60’s through today. Mostly 90’s is a cover band performing the hits from the GenZ decade.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament @ Batters Up

Batters Up (1830 Main St.) holds a Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament every Friday night, from 6:30pm to 10pm. The entry fee is $5, which includes an Official Tournament Store (OTS) pack. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game is an exciting game of strategy, luck, and skill. Learn how to play HERE.
