OUTDOOR CONCERT SERIES: 4everFab

Monday, July 27, 6:30pm

Enjoy a concert from the popular Beatles tribute band, 4EverFab. 4EverFab brings to life timeless Beatles music through brilliant lead vocals, precise three-part harmonies and true-to-the-record musicianship. 4EverFab will play this show “By Request” so that the audience will hear the songs that they want to hear. In addition, 4EverFab engages the audience with stories behind the songs, placing them in musical, cultural and historical context. This show is family-friendly and attracts fans from every generation. All the well-known hits will be featured including “She Loves You,” “Penny Lane” and “Strawberry Fields Forever,” plus sing-alongs like “Yellow Submarine” and “Hey Jude.”

Enjoy playing board games while socializing with others! This month, board game extraordinaire Jonah McCreary will be teaching us how to play Jaws. Additionally, several tables will be available for “open play” if you’d like to bring your own games or borrow one of the library’s games to play. Complimentary pizza will be provided.

IN PERSON: English Conversation Group with English At Large (*RR)

English At Large will be running an English Conversation Group in Tewksbury this summer. Conversation groups are groups of 8 -12 adult learners who meet weekly for 90 minutes to practice English speaking and listening skills. All groups are free! Registration is required. Groups are in person and are for adults who speak English at an intermediate or advanced level. You should be able to have a conversation in English. Conversation groups are not classes. Volunteer facilitators focus on listening and speaking.

IN PERSON: MassHire Lowell Mobile Career Center

The MassHire Lowell Mobile Career Center is returning to Tewksbury! On Wednesdays beginning July 1, the Mobile Career Center will be parked outside the library from 10:30AM-2:30PM to help job seekers. The MassHire Lowell Mobile Career Center is a mobile bus unit that has been equipped with solar panels to power workstations within the bus to allow for Career Center services to hit the road to all of our local communities, cities and towns. It will provide information on: Career Services; Current Training Programs; Job Search Events; and Hiring Events. No registration is required. In the event of severe weather, the event may be cancelled or cut short.

The Tewksbury Community Market takes place on Thursdays, from 4pm to 7pm, from June 4, 2026 to September 24, 2026, in the parking lot behind the Tewksbury Recreation Center at Livingston St. Park (288 Livingston Street). The market has 70 vendors overall, with 30-35 vendors present on any given week. Each week’s lineup of vendors is listed on the Market’s website. VIRTUAL: Taylor Swift — The Person, The Music, The Impact (*RR)

Taylor Swift is many things … a songwriter, a performer, an entrepreneur, an activist and a role model for young women. Enjoy an in-depth exploration of Taylor Swift’s career, through her music, her words and her actions. Learn how this young girl from Pennsylvania who loved music was able to overcome huge obstacles to achieve major commercial and artistic success without abandoning her core values.  Led by David Kahn, who started the Music Enjoyment Club, where he shares interesting music with other music enthusiasts in a monthly Zoom session. He founded and managed D. Lawton Associates, an IT consulting firm, from 1986 through 2020. He is currently the Assistant VP for K-12 STEM Engagement for the MIT Club of Boston.

VIRTUAL: Celebrating 250 — Slavery, Freedom & The American Revolution (*RR)

Author Gregory E. O’Malley will discuss his new book, The Escapes of David George: An Odyssey of Slavery, Freedom, and the American Revolution. Discover the remarkable, untold story of a Black man’s quest for the freedom espoused by our Founders, but denied him and other enslaved people, during the American Revolution. O’Malley is a historian of slavery, the slave trade, and early America. A professor and department chair in the History Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz, he is a key contributor to the SlaveVoyages.org, consulted on The 1619 Project, and lectures widely on the slave trade and related subjects.

VIRTUAL: A Visit To Rockefeller Center (*RR)

Using his own money, John D. Rockefeller Jr. envisioned an ambitious 22-acre city-within-a-city of 19 buildings with offices, restaurants, TV studios, theater, all during the Great Depression. On this tour, discover the magnificent Art Deco architecture, view some of its site-specific art installations, and hear the story behind the most famous Christmas tree and how it came there at Rockefeller Center. Led by Ginny Poleman, owner of New York City Encounters. A graduate of Cornell University, Poleman is a licensed New York City Sightseeing Guide, a trained docent for the Municipal Art Society, and a trained educational guide at Manhattan’s largest art museum.

Gilbert Stuart, a Loyalist, spent the American Revolutionary War in Great Britain, first studying with Benjamin West in London and then establishing his own portrait studio in both England and Ireland. Stuart was often one step ahead of debtors’ prison, but with his return to America in 1793, his paintings of George Washington became icons of American independence. Explore Stuart’s mercurial travels and the new style of painting he brought from England to America. Led by art historian Martha Chiarchiaro, owner of Seeing History.

With a career spanning over seven decades, he is known as a writer and director of a variety of successful broad farces and parodies. Young Frankenstein, Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles….the list goes on and on! As he turns 100, enjoy a look at the life and career of one of America’s comedy icons. Led by Frank Mandosa, a film historian and Massachusetts high school Film and English teacher. He is the host of “Reels of Cinema” podcast and co-host of the “Movies Across The Pod” podcast.

Back by popular demand, our fandom-themed craft: Pokemon Terrariums! We will be using ornament orbs, foam board, electrical tape, fake grass paper, mini fake trees, pebbles, puffy paint, and mini Pokemon figures to create a terrarium scene inside a Pokeball.

The Whalemobile hopes to cultivate the next generation of ocean advocates! Climb inside a life-sized inflatable whale named Nile to learn more about these amazing animals. Touch bones, teeth, and baleen! Children will receive a take home sheet with challenges that help them think about how their behaviors can impact the ocean in a positive way. This event is for children in grades K-5

Preschool playgroup is a weekly group where kids can meet, play, and learn. Pick up STEM and early literacy skills, and have some fun while you’re at it! Sponsored by Community Teamwork Inc’s Family Resource Network. The Family Resource Network is funded by the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant (CFCE) from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

IN PERSON: Seed Celebration with Mill City Grows (*RR)

Come visit the garden with Mill City Grows to celebrate seeds! Kids will get to take a closer look at seeds of all different shapes and sizes under the microscopes and do some hands-on discoveries with the seed samples. They will have the opportunity to plant some seeds in the garden and make their very own pollinator garden seed bombs to bring home! This event is for children in grades 3-5.

Bring your favorite stuffed friend and join us for a Teddy Bear Picnic at the library! Kids and their cuddly companions are invited to enjoy stories, songs, snacks, and simple crafts – all centered around teddy bears and the magic of imagination. This event is planned for the library’s back lawn but may be moved indoors in case of bad weather.
