Tewksbury Community Market To Feature 30 Vendors
The Tewksbury Community Market is open from 4pm to 7pm at Livingston Street Park, behind the Recreation Center (288 Livingston Street). The town’s farmers market features 30 vendors this week, including Birds Nest Italian Street Food Truck, Black Sheep Craft Ice Cream, Blisspoint Meadery, BtzNPeace Farm, The Cozy Crumb, Craic Sauce, Cupcake City, Empanada Dada Food Truck, Farmer Palmer, Fudge n Stuff, Kiss The Cook, KRM Chocolates, Pleasant Valley Gardens, Polish Prince Pierogi, Sophie’s Apples, The Stand “Shaken Not Stirred”, Tewksbury Honey, Tewksbury Public Library Community Garden, and Totally Nutz. Tewksbury Girl Scout Troop #82424, Public Health Museum, Tewksbury Conservation Department, and Tewksbury Public Library will also be on hand.
Red Cross Blood Drive at Tewksbury Masonic Hall
The American Red Cross is holding a Community Blood Drive from 9:30am to 3pm at the Masonic Hall (70 Victor Drive). Schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or visiting RedCrossBlood.org and entering ‘Tewksbury.”
Tewksbury Board of Health Meeting
The Tewksbury Board of Health meets at 6pm in the Town Hall’s Main Hall (1009 Main Street). Read the meeting agenda HERE. Highlights from the agenda include a report from the Healthy Communities Tobacco Control Officer on recent violations by three Tewksbury establishes which sold tobacco to minors during annual compliance checks. The meeting is open to the public. The meeting will also be televised on Comcast (Ch. 99) and Verizon (Ch. 33) and streamed on the Town’s YouTube channel.
Tewksbury Special Education PAC Meeting & Sensory Swap
The Tewksbury Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is holding its first meeting of the school year at 7pm in the Large Group Instruction Room at Tewksbury Memorial High School (320 Pleasant Street). Before the meeting, beginning at 5:30pm, the SEPAC will be holding a swap of sensory or adaptive items.
Free Meditation Class @ Tewksbury Public Library
Chris Connolly, RN, BSN, owner of Living My Dream Yoga, is lead a 4-week series of meditation classes this month on Thursdays, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm, at the Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street). Classes are designed for both those who are new to meditation and regular practitioners. Attendees should bring their own yoga mat, beach towel, blanket or cushion to sit/lay on. This series is sponsored by Winchester Hospital. While the classes are full, contact librarian Robert Hayes at rhayes@tewksburypl.org to get on the waiting list.
Tewksbury Public Library To Hold Art History Webinar
The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding an art history webinar(“A History of Paris Salons from 1667 to 1903”) at 10:30am on ZOOM. Examine the role of the Paris Salons in provoking the creation of avant-garde exhibitions amongst the Realists, Impressionists, and Post-Impressionists in the late 19th-century and early 20th century. Led by art historian Martha Chiarchiaro, of Seeing History. Learn more and register HERE.
Preschool Playgroup @ Tewksbury Public Library
Community Teamwork hosts a Preschool Playgroup every Thursday morning at 11am at the Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street). Kids can meet, play, and learn, while picking up some literacy skills. Free and open to all preschoolers.
Tewksbury LGBTQIA+ Youth Support Group
A Support Group for LGBTIQA+ Youth will hold its monthly meeting at 7pm at Tewksbury Town Hall (1009 Main Street). The group provides a safe space to make connections with other students who may be facing similar challenges, while receiving mutual support and gaining access to valuable resources and coping strategies. 7 Fitness Classes @ Tewksbury Senior Center
The Tewksbury Senior Center (175 Chandler Street) is hosting 7 fitness/wellness classes today:
- Wii Bowling League (9:30am)
- Body Works (10:25am)
- Fit For All (11:15am)
- Light Yoga for Seniors (12:30pm)
- Bone Builders (2pm)
- Chair Yoga (3:30pm)
- Cardio Drumming (4:30pm)
Most fitness/wellness class fees are paid either by the month OR by purchasing a punch card. Punch card cost is $35 and allows seniors to attend 10 classes of their choice. Cards can be purchased in the Senior Center’s Office. Seniors may drop in to try any of the fitness/wellness classes for FREE. Please note Bone Builders classes and the Cardio Drumming class are grant-funded with no cost to participants but do require registration to participate. Call the Senior Center at 978-640-4480 with any questions.
In addition to fitness classes, the Senior Center’s MS Support Group is holding its monthly meeting at 10am.
Public Health Museum Tours
The Public Health Museum, located on the grounds of the Tewksbury Hospital (365 East Steet), is open from 10am to 2pm. A hospital campus walking tour will take place at 10:30am. Tours of the museum are also scheduled for 10:30am and 12:30pm. Register for any of the tours HERE. The Museum is a non-profit educational and cultural museum, with a mission to strive to preserve records and artifacts from America’s public health history; educate the public about the achievements and contributions of public health; and inspire people to build upon the past and continue to advance the future of public health.
