5 Red Earns the 2-Seed in River Valley League Playoffs
Tewksbury’s 5th Grade girls travel team has punched their ticket to the River Valley League Division 1 playoffs. The team finished the regular season on Sunday with a 14-2 record in league play and a 17-2 record overall. Their coaches attribute their success to all ten players buying-in to Team Basketball–taking pride in rebounding the ball, playing gritty defense and making the extra pass on offense to find the best shot.

5 Red sits at number two in the league in scoring, averaging 32 points per game while holding their opponents to just 23 points per game on average. With the 2-Seed, the team earns a bye in the first round of the post season tournament. They will be awaiting the winner of Tyngsboro (7-seed) vs. Wakefield (10-seed) for a Quarter Final round matchup at Wakefield Memorial High School on Saturday at 11:30.

Tewksbury’s 5 Red has plenty of reasons to celebrate as they head into the playoffs. From Left to Right: Sawyer Giampa, Sydney Schofield, Bria Laidlaw, Shaun Stevenson, Jocelyn Slattery, Natalie Condon, Karina Sheehan, Sofia Lyons, Allison Fedoce, Addison Obie.
