Tewksbury residents are invited to take part in a demonstration this Saturday, the 21st.
Lithium-ion battery storage installations in different parts of this country have caught fire and burned for days, spewing smoke and toxic gases wherever prevailing winds would take them. One energy company wants to install a similar facility in Tewksbury.
Town residents who agree that this is a very bad idea are invited to take part in a demonstration at the town center this Saturday. No need to sign up. Just show up and join the others at the town hall square – Main and Pleasant streets – beginning at 9:30 and continuing until mid-afternoon. Appropriate signs will be available for those who want to express their opposition to living anywhere near 15 million pounds of lithium-ion batteries.
