Letter to the Editor: John Lombardo for Select Board

Tewksbury voters have an important decision ahead. John Lombardo is the leader our town needs on the Select Board.

During one of the most challenging issues our community has faced in years, the proposed lithium battery storage project, John Lombardo stood with the residents of Tewksbury. While many elected officials remained silent or avoided taking a clear position, John was willing to speak publicly and stand up for the concerns of the people he represents. When the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board came to Tewksbury to hear residents’ concerns about the project, John spoke out publicly and made it clear that protecting our neighborhoods and families must come first.

Leadership is not measured simply by holding a position. It is measured by the willingness to speak up when it matters most. John Lombardo demonstrated that leadership by being one of the few elected officials willing to publicly stand with residents and address the concerns surrounding this project.

Well before deciding to run for Select Board, John had already been working on ideas and a plan focused on improving health and wellness opportunities in our community. For months, he has been developing ways to bring new programs and initiatives to Tewksbury that support the well being and quality of life for residents of all ages. His commitment to these efforts shows that his vision for the town is thoughtful, proactive, and focused on the long term future of our community.

Tewksbury deserves elected officials who will listen to residents, represent the community honestly, and lead with transparency and accountability. Our town government works best when residents feel informed, respected, and heard. John Lombardo has shown he is willing to do that and to stand up for the community when it matters most.

Tewksbury needs change, and it is time to start with John Lombardo. I encourage residents to support his vision for our community and cast their vote for John Lombardo for Select Board on election day, Saturday, April 11.

Thank you,

Christine Chesbrough

Tewksbury Residents,

I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for John Lombardo. Having lived in the Emerald Court community for 22 years, I’ve seen many candidates make promises, but John is the first one who truly listens to the concerns of everyday residents. John understands that our town needs leadership. He is a man of integrity who puts people over politics and his background shows that. John is an Army Veteran, founder of a faith-based mental-health nonprofit, Veterans and First Responders Ministry, Inc., Vice Chairman of the Economic Development Committee and elected member of the Housing Authority.

John doesn’t just show up for meetings; he shows up for the residents. He has been pro-Emerald Court, advocating for community protections against the proposed Hillman Street lithium-ion battery storage facility while the town officials remained neutral. At the Oct. 9th public hearings at Tewksbury Memorial High School, he was one of the few elected officials there who spoke about the health and safety concerns. He has attended public Select Board meetings and voiced his concerns. He also attended and spoke up in January when Emerald Court had an Under Secretary Judge come to address our community regarding the Hillman battery project. John’s focus is always on what’s best for the people, not for a political party.

We need a person who is approachable and accountable. John is willing and ready to work collaboratively with state representatives, senators, and neighboring communities to address the needs and challenges of middle-class residents. Residents, especially those here at Emerald Court, I urge you to join me in voting for John Lombardo on April 11th for the Select Board. He is the leader we need to keep our community safe and moving forward. In addition to my name, I have included below the names of other Emerald Court residents who additionally support John.

Sincerely,
Sandra Poole

John Lombardo is the best candidate to be our next Tewksbury Selectman. I meet him at Luna Rosa and when I asked him where he stands on the Battery Field, he was completely against it. He is an honest man and stands behind the residents of Tewksbury. This is definitely what we want.
