Grand Opening: Lazy River Products Launches New Dispensary Location in Tewksbury

Lazy River Products, a cannabis retail company, hosts their grand opening in Tewksbury today.

TEWKSBURY, Mass. — Lazy River Products, a locally owned and fully integrated cannabis company, has officially opened its second retail dispensary in Tewksbury, following the success of its flagship location and manufacturing facility in Dracut.

Catering to both first-time visitors and seasoned cannabis consumers, the dispensary features video walls and interactive educational technology stations designed to enhance customer engagement and support cannabis literacy at each individual’s pace. We believe education is key to a great cannabis experience, the company stated, reinforcing its commitment to informed, responsible consumption.

The opening comes after the Select Board’s 2023 debate over retail marijuana licensing, culminating in the adoption of Article 37: Marijuana Retail Sales Licenses Policies and Regulations. As part of its license agreement, Lazy River is required to host an annual meeting with the Select Board and notify abutters, town departments, and stakeholders during its first two years of operation to discuss community impact and mitigation efforts.

In addition, the company is mandated to contribute $10,000 in its first year and $15,000 annually thereafter to nonprofits serving the Tewksbury community. “Lazy River Products has built its reputation on exceptional quality, sustainability, and community commitment- donating over $30,000 to local initiatives in 2024 alone,” the company stated. “Now we are bringing that same passion to our newest location.”

The company is also expected to support local supply drives and town-wide events, including being a sponsor for Main Street Cleanup Day. To learn more about the company’s licensing terms and community commitments, you can view their full application here.

In alignment with Select Board requirements, Lazy River will ensure that 50% of its full-time staff are qualified Tewksbury residents and give priority to Tewksbury-based vendors. With licenses in cultivation, manufacturing, and retail, Lazy River maintains full control over its supply chain. The new location has created over 30 new jobs, further contributing to local economic growth.

In spite of what most residents think, Tewksbury will have three dispensaries… at least two more than we need, if any. To date, Wilmington and Andover don’t find it necessary to have any, but that might be because they have some self restraint in regard to what they think is good for their towns… not just what represents more revenue,
