NMCOG Hosting March 20 Greater Lowell Economic Summit

Summit to Draw Together Stakeholders Across the Region

Lowell, MA – March 12, 2025 – The Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG) has opened registration for the 2025 Greater Lowell Economic Summit. Local officials, business owners, economic development agencies, and others are invited to learn about opportunities and collaboratively develop a vision and strategies to guide the region’s economic development for the next five years.

Between 8am and 7pm on Thursday, March 20, the summit will include discussion sessions on critical topics, a networking lunch, an outdoor walking tour, and a “happy hour” discussion on regional collaboration. The summit will take place at UKG at Crosspoint Towers (900 Chelmsford St, Lowell). Participants are welcome to register for the session or sessions of their interest.

“After talking with more than fifty stakeholders across the region, we’ve learned that this is a perfect time to come together. The Lowell Innovation Network Corridor and other initiatives are creating new opportunities for collaboration,” said Jennifer Raitt, NMCOG Executive Director. “This summit will strengthen that collaboration, building our collective capacity to improve quality of life of and economic resilience for people across our region.”

In the spirit of collaboration, the five-year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy that is being informed by the summit has been named Greater Lowell Stronger Together. It will include a vision, goals, and strategies to bolster business development, support the region’s workforce, and ensure growth benefits all types of people in the region.

NMCOG is one of thirteen regional planning agencies within Massachusetts.
