Tewksbury Police To Conduct Alcohol Compliance Checks

Chief Columbus asks residents, businesses to help keep kids safe

TEWKSBURY – Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department will be conducting alcohol compliance checks at licensed establishments in the community.

The Tewksbury Police Department already notified all licensed liquor retailers in the community that compliance checks will be conducted.

Chief Columbus has asked establishments to partner with police to help prevent underage drinking. As part of the request, each liquor establishment in town was provided a poster with the logo “No I.D., No Service, No Exceptions.”

Police will now conduct compliance checks at random times and locations throughout the community to help ensure that customers are being appropriately identified.

“We’re hoping for the cooperation of the business community as we seek partners in our efforts to keep our kids safe,” said Chief Columbus. “Prom and graduation season are upcoming, and we want to prevent any tragedies in the Town of Tewksbury. Any loss of life or injury from underage drinking is one too many.”
