Ginsburg: A ‘No’ On 41/42 Will Not Stop Development

Misinformation on MBTA Law is being spread on social media

I wanted to clear up some confusion and correct many posts/comments in regard to the Heath Brook Plaza property being thrown around.

There are not 1,200 housing units being proposed to be built on this property by us, by the state, for migrant housing, etc. Anyone that posted that is wrong, lying, or purposely spreading bad information.

The chart below can provide you information on what can be built there today under current zoning, which includes MFD and what could be built if the town votes to comply with the MBTA Communities Act Law.

To be clear, voting “No” on this article is not going to stop a redevelopment of Heath Brook Plaza in the future or any other properties in the proposed district.

The purpose of this letter is to correct misinformation being spread about the Heath Brook Plaza property and provide an informational chart on all the properties affected by the MBTA Communities Act Law.

I would encourage voters with questions on this mandate reach out to Town Planner Alex Lowder and as always, if people have any questions about our properties/developments, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you,
Matt Ginsburg

Note: The Carnation is happy to run letters in regard to articles. As with the town election, we will publish residents’ final thoughts two days ahead of each Town Meeting. Please get letters for Monday, May 6 warrant articles to us by May 1, while letters in regard to May 8 articles must be in by May 3. If you wish to cite statistics, legal opinions, etc. please include links to your sources so residents can follow up if they choose.
