TGBL 4 Blue Extends Their Winning Streak to Lucky 7

Full-team efforts shut down North Reading and Burlington

Just call the Tewksbury 4 Blue butter, because they are on a roll. The team ran their recent winning streak to seven over the weekend with a pair of wins.

Both games featured similar game flows, with the scores being within a couple of baskets at the half, only for the girls to go on a run in the second half and put the game away. Both contests also featured well-rounded scoring efforts from the team as 6 and 7 of the 9 players scored in each game, respectively.

Against North Reading, Addy Wagstaff paced the scoring with 8 points. Charlotte Taylor and Mila Kasprzak both scored 4 points, Kristina Ruscio tallied 3 points and Ollie Ginsburg and Aisling Sheehan chipped in a basket each.

On the defensive end, Maeve Rosso was especially ferocious, grabbing everything in sight. Avery Conley was very aggressive on the offensive end and was unlucky not to end up on the scoreboard. Nora Ginsburg handled a lot of the essential ball-handling duties for the team.

On Sunday against Burlington, Tewksbury had a tough time finding offense in the first half as well, but their tough defense and aggressive rebounding gave them an 8-6 lead at halftime. The girls came out firing after halftime though and outscored Burlington 20-4 in the second half. Both Wagstaff and Ollie Ginsburg paced the offense scoring 10 and 6, respectively. Avery Conley tallied 4 points and Ruscio, Rosso, Taylor, and Kasprzak scored a bucket apiece.

Both Sheehan and Nora Ginsburg made life difficult for the opposition, consistently stepping into passing lanes, containing their assignments, and grinding on the boards.
