Tewksbury Briefs: New Salon, New Skate Park, New Graduates

The Class of 2023 commencement ceremony is Friday at 6 p.m.

Got root issues? Tim Pyrcz, above with Brianna Dunn, left, and Krystal Metsas, officially cut the ribbon today on Fringe Hair Studio. The newly remodeled salon is located at 885 Main St., behind Deli King, and offers hair, makeup, manicures and pedicures, waxing and spray tanning services. Pyrcz says he’s looking to add an aesthetician for facials.

When the salon outgrew its former Chelmsford location, Pyrcz decided to move his business to Tewksbury because he was able to purchase a large unit versus leasing.

“It was a great investment,” he said, adding that the space has been completely updated, with new flooring, fixtures and ceiling tiles. The renovation took about eight months and went smoothly.

The salon sells a range of hair- and skin-care product lines as well as its own branded merch, a unique touch. There are already several wedding parties booked, said Pyrcz, so fall and winter brides looking for a one-stop beauty shop should schedule soon. 💇

The newly refurbished skate park at 288 Livingston St. will open on Thursday, June 8. Last year, Town Meeting voted to appropriate $25,000 in Community Preservation Act funding to purchase equipment and upgrade and improve the Skate Park, which previously had hand-me-down ramps from Andover. Now, it’s all new and ready for summer skateboarding. Also at Livingston, the splash pad will open on June 16, the last day of school. 🛹

On Friday, commencement exercises for the Tewksbury Memorial High School Class of 2023 will kick off at 6:00 p.m. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held on the Edward K. Dick field, otherwise grads and their families will be in the gymnasium.
