Arbor Day Tree Seedling Giveaway @ Tewksbury Library

In celebration of Arbor Day and the Town’s Tree City USA designation, the Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) will be giving away 200 fraser fir tree seedlings. One per household while supplies last. Seedlings will be available on table located in the Library’s lobby from 10am until no later than 4:45pm. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Arbor Day Celebration @ Tewksbury Library

The Town of Tewksbury will be observing Arbor Day to mark the fourth year of attaining Tree City status from the Arbor Day Foundation with a ceremonial tree planting of a red oak on the front lawn of the Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) beginning at 11am.  All are welcome to join this celebration as an additional native tree is planted in the front yard of the library. Help us celebrate this developing community space and the importance of native trees and plants in our community spaces. 

Afternoon Film Screening (“Blue Moon”) @ Tewksbury Library

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding a film screening of “Blue Moon” at 2pm. Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood’s newest DVD releases — Blue Moon. The story of Lorenz Hart’s struggles with alcoholism and mental health as he tries to save face during the opening of “Oklahoma!”. Starring Ethan Hawke. Drama/Comedy. Rated R. 1 Hour, 40 Minutes. Doors will open at 1:30pm. Film will start at 2pm. Candy & water will be served. A $1 donation is suggested to help cover the costs of refreshments. JamBaby Concert @ Tewksbury Library

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding Jammin’ With You — an interactive music and movement event — at 11am. It will be full of exploration crucial for early literacy skills! This event is for children ages 0-5. Registration is recommended but not required. Sponsored by Community Teamwork Inc’s Family Resource Network.

Weekly Bingo Night @ St. Williams Church

St. Williams Church (1351 Main Street) holds a Bingo Night every Friday, beginning at 6:45pm. Players can expect to spend $15-$20 on Bingo sheets. Call 978-640-0859 with any questions or for more information.

4 Fitness Classes @ Tewksbury Senior Center + Scrabble

The Tewksbury Senior Center (175 Chandler Street) is hosting 4 fitness/wellness classes today:

  • Bone Builders (8:15am)
  • Walking Club (8:30am)
  • Bone Builders (9:30am)
  • Scrabble (10am)
  • Meditation (11am)

Most fitness/wellness class fees are paid either by the month OR by purchasing a punch card. Punch card cost is $35 and allows seniors to attend 10 classes of their choice. Cards can be purchased in the Senior Center’s Office. Seniors may drop in to try any of the fitness/wellness classes for FREE. Please note Bone Builders classes and the Cardio Drumming class are grant-funded with no cost to participants but do require registration to participate. Live Music @ TJ Callahan’s Pub

TJ Callahan’s Pub (1475 Main Street) is offering live music with the Boston-based rock ‘n roll cover band Whiskey Tango beginning at 9pm.

Karaoke Night @ Wamesit Lanes

Firewater Tavern at Wamesit Lanes (434 Main Street) is offering karaoke on the last Friday night of each month, from 9pm to 11pm. Sing your heart out and have a blast at karaoke hosted by DJ Mike. A $50 gift card is given to the performer of the night, who is also entered into the “Sing-Off” in September.

TMHS Sports: Baseball, Softball & Boys Lacrosse In Action

The Tewksbury High Boys Varsity Lacrosse hosts Essex Aggie at 11am at Doucette Stadium. The Tewksbury High Varsity Softball Team hosts Pentucket at 11am at Livingston Street Fields. The Tewksbury High Varsity Baseball Team battles Hingham High at 2pm at Cronin Field in Hingham.
