Tewksbury Board of Health Meeting

The Tewksbury Board of Health is holding its monthly meeting at 6pm in the Main Hall of the Town Hall (1009 Main Street). Read the agenda HERE. The meeting is open to the public. The meeting will be televised live on Tewksbury Telemedia (Comcast 8 and Verizon 33) and streamed on the Town’s YouTube channel.

Library Virtual Lecture: American Revolutionary Painters — Benjamin West

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding an art history webinar — “American Revolutionary Painters — Benjamin West” — at 2pm on ZOOM. Benjamin West, born in Pennsylvania, moved to London in 1763. Although West spent the American Revolutionary War in London, he trained and inspired three generations of American artist in London. He also became King George III’s court historical painter and eventually the second President of the London Royal Academy. Explore West’s complicated relationship with both King George III and the American Revolutionary War. Led by art historian Martha Chiarchiaro, who has brought history to life through the art of the times for more than 30 years.  Learn more and register HERE.

Library Virtual Lecture: Kristan Higgins Talks Women’s Fiction

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding a webinar — “Kristan Higgins Talks Women’s Fiction” — at 6:30pm on ZOOM. Join bestselling author Kristan Higgins for 30 minutes of women’s fiction book recommendations. Kristan is the author of more than twenty novels, all of which were New York Times and/or USA TODAY bestsellers. Preschool Playgroup At Tewksbury Library

Community Teamwork hosts a Preschool Playgroup every Thursday morning at 11am at the Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street). Kids can meet, play, and learn, while picking up some literacy skills. Free and open to all preschoolers.

Melty Makers At Tewksbury Library

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding its monthly “Melty Makers” session at 3:30pm with children in Grades 3-5. Learn more and register HERE.

Film Screening Of “Cars” At Tewksbury Library

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding a screening of “Cars” at 10:15am in the Library’s Meeting Room. Celebrate the 20th anniversary of Cars! On the way to the biggest race of his life, a hotshot rookie race car gets stranded in a rundown town and learns that winning isn’t everything in life. Animated Comedy. Rated G. 1 Hour, 56 Minutes. Doors will open at 10am. Film will start at 10:15am. Candy & water will be served. A $1 donation is suggested. Learn more and register HERE.

Public Health Museum Tours

The Public Health Museum, located on the grounds of the Tewksbury Hospital (365 East Steet), is open from 10am to 2pm. A hospital campus walking tour will take place at 10:30am. Tours of the museum are also scheduled for 10:30am and 12:30pm. Register for any of the tours HERE. The Museum is a non-profit educational and cultural museum, with a mission to strive to preserve records and artifacts from America’s public health history; educate the public about the achievements and contributions of public health; and inspire people to build upon the past and continue to advance the future of public health.

Karaoke with DJ Manny @ TJ Callahan’s Pub

TJ Callahan’s Pub (1475 Main Street) hosts Karaoke with DJ Manny every Thursday night from 8pm to midnight.

8 Fitness Classes @ Tewksbury Senior Center

The Tewksbury Senior Center (175 Chandler Street) is hosting 8 fitness/wellness classes today:

  • Blood Pressure Checks (9am-10:30am)
  • Belly Dancing (9:30am)
  • Wii Bowling League (9:30am)
  • Piecemakers Quilters (10am)
  • Body Works (10:25am)
  • Fit For All (11:25am)
  • Light Yoga for Seniors (12:30pm)
  • Whist (12:30pm)
  • Bone Builders (2pm)
  • Chair Yoga (3:30pm)
  • Cardio Drumming (4:30pm)

Most fitness/wellness class fees are paid either by the month OR by purchasing a punch card. Punch card cost is $35 and allows seniors to attend 10 classes of their choice. Cards can be purchased in the Senior Center’s Office. Seniors may drop in to try any of the fitness/wellness classes for FREE. Please note Bone Builders classes and the Cardio Drumming class are grant-funded with no cost to participants but do require registration to participate. TMHS Sports: Baseball & Softball, Girls & Boys Lacrosse, Boys & Girls Tennis In Action

The Tewksbury High Girls Tennis Team battles Billerica at Billerica High at 3:45pm. The Tewksbury High Boys Tennis Team hosts Billerica High at TMHS at 3:45pm. The Tewksbury High Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team hosts Methuen High at Doucette Stadium at 4pm. The Tewksbury High Varsity Softball Team travels Lowell High at Alumni Stadium at 4pm. The Tewksbury High Varsity Baseball Team travels Lowell High at Alumni Stadium at 4:30pm. The Tewksbury High Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team travels to Methuen High at 5pm.
