Celebrate National Library Card Month with TPL and Queen Bean Coffee Truck Mondays in September starting September 8th. Grab a mid-morning or afternoon pick me up right outside the library’s front doors! Queen Bean of Wilmington will be parked right outside the library to bring you cold brew along with iced and hot coffee and espresso drinks (available for purchase).

Love chatting about movies new and old? This is the place for you! Join fellow cinephiles four times a year to dig into a recently released film and chat through the plot, themes, cast, cinematography, and more. This month we’ll chat about Godzilla Minus One (2023) directed by Takashi Yamazaki and starring Minami Hamabe, Ryûnosuke Kamiki, and Sakura Andô. This film is rated PG-13. Meetings will take place in the second floor Trustees Room. DVD copies of the film can be borrowed from TPL or through our wider library network of MVLC. The MassHire Lowell Mobile Career Center is visiting Tewksbury! Every Wednesday from August 6-October 29, the Mobile Career Center will be parked outside the library from 10AM-2PM to help job seekers. The MassHire Lowell Mobile Career Center is a mobile bus unit that has been equipped with solar panels to power workstations within the bus to allow for Career Center services to hit the road to all of our local communities, cities and towns. It will provide information on: Career Services; Current Training Programs; Job Search Events; and Hiring Events.

The Tewksbury Community Market takes place on Thursdays, from 4pm to 7pm, from June 5, 2025 from September 25, 2025, in the parking lot behind the Tewksbury Recreation Center at Livingston St. Park (288 Livingston Street). The Tewksbury Open Space & Recreation Committee and the Tewksbury Public Library invite you to take a guided hike at Rogers Park. The hike will be led by Open Space & Recreation Committee member Tom Branchaud. This easy hike is 1.6 miles long and will last approximately 75 minutes. Please park in the Rogers Park parking lot and, when full, along Kennedy Road. Do not block driveways. This hike is limited to 30 cars.

Learn about the history and nature of Nova Scotia, as well as its long ties to New England. See how farming has changed in the Annapolis Valley from the unique techniques of the earliest French settlers of Grand Pre, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, to the vineyards of today. Visit the historic port and homes of Yarmouth and learn about the “Age of Sail” and the role it played in the 18th and 19th century as people traveled back and forth to the US. Wildlife also migrates back and forth between our two countries. See birds and butterflies in ancient fields and seals and seabirds along the rugged coast that is dotted with picturesque lighthouses even today. Enjoy a virtual visit to our neighbor to the North. Led by Joy Marzolf, owner of “The Joys of Nature,” which runs nature, nature travel and live animal programs for all ages. Marzolf, a wildlife photographer, previously worked as a Naturalist and Educator at Mass Audubon’s Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary.

Wulf will also take questions about the importance of documenting kinship for Early Americans of every background.

Children (especially those struggling with reading) are invited to sign up for a one-on-one session with our service dog Benny on Tuesday afternoons. Barks and Books are open to children reading independently. Each session lasts for 15 minutes in private – just you, Benny, and his human Mom, Melanie. Bring your own book or borrow one of ours to read. This is a great way to build literacy confidence and fluency with a non-judgmental canine reading partner!
IN PERSON: Sleepy Story Time

Join us for cozy lullabies and bedtime stories, and get your early literacy skills on! All of our story times are interactive for children and their caregivers. Please be ready to participate and play. Don’t worry, we will have a printout with all of the songs and rhymes we are using so you can follow along. Stories are geared toward children birth through age 5. Wearing pajamas is encouraged!
IN PERSON: Baby Story Time

Join us for a fun session of stories, songs, fingerplays, and gentle movement that help build early literacy skills. Babies experience the sounds and structure of language through rhythm, rhyme and repetition. Baby Story Time is designed for young children ages 0 to 2 years old and their caregivers. All of our story times are interactive for children and their caregivers. Please be ready to participate and play. Don’t worry, we will have a printout with all of the songs and rhymes we are using so you can follow along! Story Times run in sessions. You can drop in one week, every week or however works best for your schedule. No registration is required. This session is Wednesdays from September 10 – December 17 (excluding closings and other exceptions).
