Performance Review & Upcoming Projects by Tewksbury Housing Authority
The Housing Authority met for its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 10th 2025, at the THA offices on Saunders Circle.
The minutes of the May 13th meeting were approved, and after a brief discussion, the invoices for May and June were also approved.
There was one notice from the Executive Office of Housing & Livable Communities (EOHLC) – Public Housing Notice 2025-06. This notice provides LHAs with more details on how the Preventive Maintenance Plan will be evaluated.
Coincidentally, Executive Director, Melissa Maniscalco presented the Performance Management Review ending Dec. 2024 to the board. Local Housing Authorities (LHA’s) are required to participate in this comprehensive performance-based monitoring program. The goal of the PMR is to review key elements of housing authority operations, and to identify areas of strength and those areas that need improvement.
A score of “No Findings” of which Tewksbury has many, indicates that a housing authority meets or exceeds expectations. It should be noted, the Chair of the THA, John Deputat, received communication from Thomas Lee, Housing Management Specialist, that “The Tewksbury Housing Authority is outstanding, and the town is very fortunate to have such a well-run Housing Authority”. John then congratulated Melissa and her staff on their dedication, attention to detail and hard work, which is evident in this review.
Under new business, it was noted that bids have been received for new projects. Delaney Drive Congregate & Community Hall are being renovated. Saunders Circle community room is to be upgraded. Saunders Circle front and back stairwells are also being renovated. All three of these projects were voted on and approved by the authority.
Unless needed, there will be no meeting in July. Next scheduled meeting is August 12, 2025.
Residents of Carnation Drive should look for the return of the Merrimack Valley Community Market. Opening day is on Wed. June 18. then monthly July 17, August 14, Sept. 18, Oct. 16 and Nov. 13.
