Below are TEN things (in no particular order) happening in Tewksbury on Friday, December 6, 2024:

Tewksbury Tree Lighting & Holiday Celebration

The Town of Tewksbury will host the Annual Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting from 5pm to 7pm on the Town Common (1009 Main Street). This free family-friendly fun event will include:

  • Marshmallow roasting on open fires
  • Staging of an ice sculpture donated by the Wilmington/Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce
  • Warm cider, roasted nuts and other festive treats for purchase from What the Fork Catering and Totally Nutz and hot chocolate courtesy of Tewksbury Police Department
  • Free balloon animals, caroling, and crafts
  • Writing letters to Santa

Meet Santa across the street at Tewksbury Congregational Church from 7pm to 8pm after the Common is lit. 

Residents are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to the local toy drive through the Tewksbury Fire Department. 

Pie Social at Tewksbury Congregational Church

Tewksbury Congregational Church (10 East Street) is holding its annual Pie Social from 5:30pm to 8pm. Enjoy a slice of pie, a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, free kids crafts, and a game room.

Chaotic Wrestling @ Tewksbury Elks

Chaotic Wrestling is holding an independent wrestling show at the Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks (777 South Street). Doors open at 7:30pm. Show begins at 8pm. Purchase your tickets HERE.

Film Screening of ‘Coup!’ At Tewksbury Public Library

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding a film screening of “Coup! at 1:30pm” During the Spanish Flu of 1918, a mischievous cook leads a revolt against his wealthy employer. Starring Peter Sarsgaard, Billy Magnussen, and Sarah Gadon. Comedy/Thriller. R. Candy & water will be served. A $1 donation is suggested. Learn more & register HERE.

Baby Story Time At Tewksbury Public Library

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding a Baby Story Time at 10:15am. Baby Story Time is designed for young children ages 0 to 2 years old and their caregivers. Join a fun session of stories, songs, fingerplays, and gentle movement that help build early literacy skills.

Library Virtual Lecture: Eisenhower & The Media

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is holding a webinar — “Eisenhower & The Media with the Eisenhower Presidential Library” — at 2pm on ZOOM. When Dwight Eisenhower was elected president in 1952, he became the first president to hire a media consultant and with the guidance of his press secretary, James Hagerty, cultivated a relationship with the press that no prior president had ever done before. Eisenhower’s relationship with the media can be traced back to his campaign, where one of his campaign commercials was created by Walt Disney. The Eisenhower presidency changed the relationship between the media and the White House and gave the public far more access to the president than ever before. Weekly Bingo Night at St. Williams Church

State Rep. Tram Nguyen’s Virtual Office Hours

State Representative Tram Nguyen is holding virtual office hours, from 10am to 11am, on ZOOM. Register for a 15-minute session HEREIf you can’t attend the office hours, but have an issue you’d like to discuss with Rep. Nguyen, contact her Legislative Director Tobin Abraham at

3 Fitness Classes at Tewksbury Senior Center

The Tewksbury Senior Center (175 Chandler Street) is hosting 3 fitness/wellness classes today:

  • Walking Club (8:30am)
  • Bone Builders (9:30am)
  • Meditation (11am)

Most fitness/wellness class fees are paid either by the month OR by purchasing a punch card. Punch card cost is $35 and allows seniors to attend 10 classes of their choice. Cards can be purchased in the Senior Center’s Office. Seniors may drop in to try any of the fitness/wellness classes for FREE. Please note Bone Builders classes and the Cardio Drumming class are grant-funded with no cost to participants but do require registration to participate. Call the Senior Center at 978-640-4480 with any questions.

Karaoke Night at Wamesit Lanes

Wamesit Lanes (434 Main Street) is holding its monthly Karaoke Night from 9pm to 11pm. Whether you’re a seasoned singer or just want to have some fun, this event is all about enjoying music, laughter, and great company. Plus, there’s a $50 gift card up for grabs for the top performer, so bring your A-game!

Live Music at TJ Callahan’s Pub

TJ Callahan’s Pub (1475 Main Street) is offering live music with party rock band Gain 211, beginning at 8:30pm.

REMINDER: Tewksbury Restaurant Week (November 30-December 7)

The Town of Tewksbury has launched a social media campaign to highlight restaurants in Town starting Saturday, November 30 and running through Saturday, December 7. Many of the restaurants are offering specials to customers. See the list of participating restaurants and deals HERE.
