The recent September 12th meeting of the Tewksbury Housing Authority was called to order at 4pm with three members present (one member arrived later). The minutes of the August meeting were approved, as were the September invoices to date.
There was one notice from the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities: Notice 2024-15. To reduce processing times and improve data quality, EOHLC has developed a platform with DocuSign to create and complete contracts and addendums in a timely matter. This new platform will take effect September 30, 2024.
There are currently three units on the vacancy list. The Saunders Circle unit is in the process of being cleaned. The Pondview unit is undergoing a kitchen rehab which should be completed within sixty days. The unit on Delaney Drive is waiting for signatures on the lease.
The shower project at Saunders Circle is approximately halfway complete and going well. The two additional kitchen rehabs in Pondview are all approved and materials have been ordered. Additionally, the Pondview Roof project is complete to everyone’s satisfaction.
The Farmer’s Market, held monthly at Carnation Drive, has been a huge success. There has been great participation, with residents looking forward to “shopping” for fresh fruits and vegetables. Executive Director Melissa Maniscalco is hopeful that next year, the market will expand with another pop-up market at a second facility in Tewksbury. The market at Carnation Drive runs through November 14.
The next meeting of the THA will be on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 4pm.
