Tewksbury 9/11 Memorial Ceremony
The Town of Tewksbury is holding its annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at 7pm at the 9/11 Memorial outside the Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street). The ceremony will include a presentation of colors from the Police& Fire Honor Guards; the Pledge of Allegiance from the Scouts; patriotic music from Tewksbury High School students and the Tewksbury Swinging Seniors group; and remarks from guest speaker Larissa Gay, daughter of Peter Gay, who passed away on 9/11 aboard American Airlines Flight 11. Tewksbury Garden Club Monthly Meeting
The Tewksbury Garden Club is holding its monthly meeting at 7pm at the Tewksbury Senior Center (175 Chandler Street). Doors open at 6:30pm. The meeting generally lasts 2 hours and includes a business portion and an educational or craft portion. The club is actively seeking new members from Tewksbury and beyond. Oldies Concert @ Tewksbury Public Library
The Tewksbury Public Library is hosting a morning concert at 10:30am. Guitarist and singer Howie Newman will perform classic songs from yesteryear, including standards, show tunes and material from artists like Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond and many others. Enjoy a sing-along, toe-tapping musical journey from the early 1900s up through the 1970s. Howie adds trivia, background stories about the songs and a little G-rated humor. Shawsheen River Watershed Association Monthly Meeting
The Shawsheen River Watershed Association is holding its monthly meeting at 6:30pm at the Tewksbury Senior Center. The Association is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization with a mission to protect, restore, and enjoy the Shawsheen River and its watershed. Virtual Lecture About A Great American Unsung Hero
The Tewksbury Public Library is hosting a virtual lecture — “Great American Unsung Heroes Who Changed The Course Of History — Dr. Benjamin Rush” at 7pm via ZOOM. Learn about one of America’s forgotten founding fathers — a renowned writer, reformer and medical pioneer who touched virtually every page in the story of our nation’s founding. Rush was Franklin’s protegee, the editor of Common Sense, and Washington’s Surgeon General. The lecture will be presented by retired Massachusetts Superior Court Justice Dennis Curran. Teen Advisory Board Meeting @ Tewksbury Public Library
The Tewksbury Public Library is hosting a meeting of its Teen Advisory Board, from 6pm to 8pm. Want to make a difference? Have ideas about how to improve the library for teens? Interested in running an event? Join the Teen Advisory Board, open to all teens in Grades 6-12. Each meeting we’ll discuss ideas for teens at TPL! New Tewksbury Recreation Offerings Begin Today
The Greater Lowell Family YMCA is holding a 6-week beginner-friendly fitness class for adults with osteoporosis or osteopenia on Wednesdays, from 9:30am to 10:25am, from September 11, 2024 through October 16, 2024, at the Tewksbury Recreation Center (352 Livingston Street). Enjoy a combination of balance, aerobics, weight lifting, and flexibility exercises. The class costs $43 for family members and individual members, and $85 for non-members. The Greater Lowell Family YMCA is holding a 6-week Toddler Sports & Play session on Wednesdays, from 10:30am to 11:25am, from September 11, 2024 through October 16, 2024, at the Tewksbury Recreation Center (352 Livingston Street). This is an introduction to sports and PE style play for little ones who don’t have long attention spans. Explore balance, hand-eye coordination and build confidence. The Greater Lowell Family YMCA is holding a 6-week Cardio, Strength, and Core Class for Adults on Wednesdays, from 6pm to 6:45pm, from September 11, 2024 through October 16, 2024, at the Tewksbury Recreation Center (352 Livingston Street). A dynamic group fitness class which seamlessly integrates cardio, strength training, and core-focused exercises for a complete workout experience. Fall Wreath Workshop @ Kyoto
Kyoto Japanese Steak House, Sushi Bar and Chinese Cuisine (1487 Main Street) is hosting a Fall Wreath Workshop from April’s Way Custom Creations at 6:30pm. All supplies and detailed instruction will be included. An assortment of florals, ribbon & decorative picks will be provided, as will a standard size 18″ grapevine.
