Tewksbury Select Board Meeting

The Tewksbury Select Board meets at Town Hall (1009 Main Street) at 7pm. Read the meeting agenda HERE. Read the meeting packet HERE. Highlights from the agenda include possible votes on new contracts to the Police Chief, Police Patrolmen Union, and Firefighters Union, plus a discussion of short-term borrowing regarding the Center School. The meeting is open to the public. The meeting will also be televised on Comcast (Ch. 99) and Verizon (Ch. 33) and streamed on the Town’s YouTube channel.

Tewksbury Library & Public Health Museum Organize Walking Tour Of Tewksbury Hospital Campus

The Tewksbury Public Library is partnering with the Public Health Museum for a walking tour of the Tewksbury Hospital Campus at 6pm. Eplore the history of the legendary Tewksbury State Hospital, which opened its doors in May 1854 as the State Almshouse. Led by a knowledgeable volunteer guide from the Public Health Museum, join this 60+ minute walking tour to explore life in days past, the history of a vibrant community, its architecture, the lives of its patients and staff, and its connection to public health. Weekly Bingo Night @ Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks Lodge

The Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks holds a Bingo Night every Tuesday night at its Lodge (777 South Street). The Bingo is open to all — not just Elks members. Doors open at 4pm. Game sheet sales begin at 5:45pm. Game begins at 6:45pm. Players may bring snacks. Dinner items (often pizza) is also available to purchase. Coffee, tea and water are free of charge. Weekly Bingo Afternoon @ Tewksbury Senior Center

The Tewksbury Senior Center (175 Chandler Street) holds Bingo every Tuesday afternoon. Players should arrive between 11:30am and 12:20pm, during which time game sheets are available. Bingo begins at 12:45pm. Players may bring a lunch or snacks. The event is run by volunteers with the Golden Age Club.

New Tewksbury Recreation Offerings Begin Today

The Greater Lowell Family YMCA is also holding a 5-week Strength & Conditioning Class for Ages 8-12 on Tuesdays, from 4:30pm to 5:25pm, from September 10, 2024 through October 15, 2024, at the Tewksbury Recreation Center (352 Livingston Street). Parent or guardian supervision is required. The class costs $48 for family members and individual members, and $90 for non-members. Learn more and register HERE.

The Greater Lowell Family YMCA is holding a 5-week Gentle Yoga Class for Adults on Tuesday nights, from 6pm to 7pm, from September 10, 2024 through October 15, 2024, at the Tewksbury Recreation Center (352 Livingston Street). Cribbage League At Wamesit Lanes

Wamesit Lanes (434 Main Street) hosts a Cribbage League every Tuesday at 7pm. $12 entry fee. Pizza and salad are served. First place receives $500. Highest score of the night receives $10 food & beverage cards. Additional prizes are often awarded. This is a fun and fair league with “no muggings.” Learn more and register HERE.

Lego Club For Kids At Tewksbury Library

The Tewksbury Public Library (300 Chandler Street) is hosting Lego Building for Grades 4-5 from 6pm to 7pm. Kids can get creative with different Lego challenges to see what they can create. Creations will displayed in the library during the month of September. Learn more & register HERE.

Weekly Veterans Coffee Social At Tewksbury Senior Center

The Tewksbury Veteran’s Services Department holds a free coffee social every Tuesday at 10am, typically at the Tewksbury Senior Center (175 Chandler Street) in its library/media room. No registration is necessary.

Tewksbury Rod & Gun Club Open House

The Tewksbury Rod & Gun Club (79 Chandler Street) is hosting an Open House from 6:30pm to 9pm. This private Sportsman’s Club boasts over 700 members. The facility has an indoor range, high bore range, trap field, archery field and function hall with kitchen. The club offers safety courses, trainings, classes, guest speakers, and more.

Tewksbury Hospital Board of Trustees Meeting

The Tewksbury Hospital Board of Trustees is holding its bi-monthly meeting at 8am in the Hospital’s 1st Floor Board Room. Read the agenda HERE. Highlights from the agenda include a Safety & Security Update from the CEO and a Facilities Report from the COO. The meeting is open to the public.
