TPL Summer Concert Series and More!

Unwind and embrace the summer with live music every Monday evening at the Tewksbury Public Library’s ‘Summer Concert Series’.

We’re officially a month into summer. Are you taking advantage of the warm weather and summer fun? The Tewksbury Public library is hosting an array of exciting events that cater to every interest and age group, with over 50 programs left this month alone.

One highlight not to be missed is the upcoming Johnny Cash Tribute Concert – part of the TPL Summer Concert Series. This concert will take place on the library’s back lawn, Monday July 22nd, at 6:30pm. Bring your friends, family, and lawn chairs for a weekly lineup of talented performers, ensuring each Monday becomes a highlight of your summer.

Attend virtual or in-person events for all ages, ranging from crafting to hiking to live music! Every week there are dozens of event options so you are sure to find something you’ll love. Check out some of the upcoming events, as well as the Summer Concert Series schedule, listed below!

IN PERSON: Pokemon Club
Thursday, July 18, 3pm

Are you a Pokemon master? Join like-minded friends to trade and show off your cards! Maybe you can be the one to catch ’em all! Please note: all trades must be approved by parent or guardian.

IN PERSON: Take A Hike Through The Chandler Well Fields (*RR)
Saturday, July 20, 10am

The Tewksbury Open Space & Recreation Committee and the Tewksbury Public Library invite you to take a guided hike of the Chandler Well Fields. The hike will be led by Open Space & Recreation Committee member Bruce Shick. This easy hike is 2 miles long and will last approximately 90 minutes. The trail features some beautiful pond and march views. The trail begins at the intersection of Chandler Street and Whipple Road (900 Chandler Street). Please park at the trail’s entrance parking area. When full, park on nearby streets, without blocking driveways. This hike is limited to 25 cars.

IN PERSON: Letterboxing
Tuesday, July 23, 5:30pm

Stop in any time between 5:30-6:30 pm to participate in letterboxing. Letterboxing combines treasure hunts, hiking, collecting things, arts and crafts, and adventure into one awesome pastime that is great for all ages. Boxes are hidden all over the world; by following clues, you can find thousands of unique, hand-carved stamps inside, which you can then stamp into a logbook. Join us to give it a try with a special indoor hunt! This event is open to teens entering grades 6-12 in September 2024 and teens who have graduated high school in 2024.

IN PERSON: MORNING MOVIE – Civil War (*RR)
Wednesday, July 24, 10:30am

Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood’s newest DVD releases — Civil War. A journey across a dystopian
future America, following a team of military-embedded journalists as they race against time to reach DC before rebel factions descend upon the White House. Starring Kirsten Dunst and Cailee Spaeny. Action Adventure – R Rated. 1 Hour & 49 Minutes. Doors will open at 10:15am. Candy & water will be served. A $1 donation is suggested.

IN PERSON: Family Fun Friday – Tie Dye Party
Friday, July 26, 11am

Every Friday morning this summer, there will be an awesome program for kids! This week, we are hosting our annual Tie Dye Party! We have the dye, rubber bands, gloves, know-how, and groovy tunes… please bring your own white shirt and artistic spirit, and together we can make some really cool tie dye clothes!

Can’t make it in person? No worries! They’ve curated a diverse lineup of virtual events that you can enjoy from the comfort of home. From engaging workshops to interactive sessions, there’s plenty to explore and learn throughout the month.
