Sleep Deprived? 17 Things To Perk You Up This Week In Tewksbury

The Select Board will hear an update on reuse of the Trahan school property

There were two fundraisers in town this weekend, both in their second years, and both for great causes.

On Saturday, the Dr. Sandy Johnson Creamer Foundation drew a crowd to the Elks to help fund a scholarship for a TMHS senior pursuing a career in nursing. Then on Sunday, all four candidates for Tewksbury Select Board — (above, l-r) James Mackey, Jomarie Buckley, Eric Ryder and Tom Bowley — came to Wamesit Lanes, along with Reps Vanna Howard and Dave Robertson, for the Soldier On and Tewksbury Home Build event to support veterans’ housing on Main St.

Looking ahead, Shawsheen Valley Technical School’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management program is offering a St. Patrick’s Day inspired menu, available for dining in or takeout on March 13 and 15. Learn more.

And mark your calendars for Monday, March 18 when the 100 People Who Care invite residents to 3 Amigos to hear from House of Hope, Strongwater Farm and The Megan House Foundation. Learn more.

Finally, you can check out vintage photos of the Tewksbury State Hospital from the Harvard Art Museum collection. Just put “Tewksbury” in the search box. Or, Tewksbury history maven Nancy Reed tells us that the material also available as a document in the Tewksbury Historical Society digital archive section.
