Petition seeks decision to provide communal ashes
In an online petition, Tewksbury resident Mary Ricci is asking for signatures on a petition to get a pet crematorium to reverse its decision and return the ashes of her therapy dog, Delilah.
The petition reads:
Delilah was a beloved member of our family for 13 years. As many of you animal lovers know, these pets are family.
Losing Delilah was devastating. We chose private cremation to have Delilah’s ashes returned to us, so she would be where she belongs, with us, forever.
We learned of Bulger Animal Hospital’s negligent error after calling them to inquire as to when Delilah would be returned to us. We were informed that because of their mistake, we would not be getting Delilah back. This is unacceptable!
Bulger is admittedly responsible for their mistake resulting in a communal cremation for Delilah at Forget Me Not Pet Crematory. We had chosen private cremation which meant Delilah’s ashes would be returned to us. Communal cremation means pet ashes are not returned to their parents.
But, there is HOPE.
We call upon Forget Me Not, who are aware of Bulger’s error, to rectify this situation by returning Delilah’s ashes to us. Forget Me Not refused to release the ashes to us because of the communal cremation. They also refused to contact the other pet parents to obtain consent to release ashes. The other pet parents elected “communal cremation,” and did not wish their pets’ ashes returned. We did not!
Therefore, we need your help.
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION TO SUPPORT OUR EFFORTS TO BRING DELILAH HOME.
Hold Bulger Animal Hospital responsible for their negligence and urge Forget Me Not Pet Crematory to help us BRING DELILAH HOME.
