Nominations Watch: Who’s Pulled Papers?

There are now two candidates for Select Board

Here are your neighbors who have taken out nomination papers for Town of Tewksbury elected offices as ofnoon today.

An * denotes an incumbent, and a (Q) indicates that the candidate has qualified to be on the ballot by turning in papers with at least 50 registered voters’ signatures.

First-time candidate Christopher Moncada is an 11-year Tewksbury resident with two daughters in the school system, who also participate in dance and town sports. Moncada currently serves as secretary for the Center Elementary School PAC board and is a VFW Post 8164 Auxiliary member. He works for Burlington-based A.I.M. Mutual Insurance as a senior claims specialist.

“I was moved by Chairman [Todd] Johnson’s call for reasonable and service-minded residents and would be honored to serve the community in this position,” Moncada told the Carnation. “I look forward to meeting the challenges ahead.”

Interested in running? Nomination papers for Town of Tewksbury elected offices are available at the Town Clerk’s Office, Town Hall, 1009 Main St. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Friday 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  

The last day for candidates to file their nomination papers is Friday, Feb. 16, 2024 before 5:00 p.m., at the Town Clerk’s Office. Fifty valid registered Tewksbury voter signatures and addresses are required to be put on the ballot.

The Annual Town Election will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Learn more about running for office in Tewksbury here.

    Hopefully 3 soon for Select Board so the voters actually have a choice.
