Library Offers Opportunities To Give Back This Winter Season

Here are seven programs to help members of our community right through January

Tewksbury Public Library has partnered with a variety of community organizations to find ways to give back to those in need this winter season. Learn more about how you can contribute this year, below: 

Tewksbury Hospital Giving Tree | Nov. 20 – Dec. 15

  • Donate a gift to a Tewksbury Hospital resident by choosing a tag off the tree in the lobby. Bring the tag you select to the Front Desk to sign it out
  • All presents should be returned to the Front Desk, wrapped, by Friday December 15th 
  • Learn more about the support and clinical services provided by the Tewksbury Hospital at the following website https://www.mass.gov/locations/tewksbury-hospital

Tewksbury Community Pantry Giving Tree | Nov. 28 – Dec. 30 

  • Support the wonderful hard work of this local pantry by donating specific food and non-food items by selecting an ornament from the tree located at the library’s entrance
  • Please leave your donations in the Food Pantry bin at the library’s entrance
  • To learn how you can support the Food Pantry all year long, visit their website at http://www.tewksburypantry.org/

TPL & Tewksbury Community Pantry Non-Food Drive | Dec. 1 – Dec. 30 

  • Join the library in this special drive for essential, non-food items, to be donated to the Tewksbury Community Pantry
  • Requested items include: cleaning supplies, dish soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, sponges, toilet paper, and toiletries
  • A complete list of requested items can be found here
  • Please leave all donations in the Food Pantry bin located at the library’s entrance

Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library: Countdown to Christmas Fundraiser | Dec. 1 – Dec. 24 

  • Join the Friends in supporting library programming for all ages by purchasing raffle tickets 
  • Purchase your raffle tickets and learn more about the mystery gift cards up for grabs here 
  • Learn more about the Friends of the Library and how you can volunteer in 2024 here

Tewksbury Fire Department: Toys for Local Children | Nov. 29 – Dec. 22 

  • Drop off new and unwrapped toys for local children in need
  • All toys can be dropped off in the donation box located in the Community Area of the library’s first floor
  • To learn more about the Toys for Local Children organization, out of Somerville, MA., please click here 

Tewksbury Democratic Town Committee Toiletry Drive | Dec. 1 – Jan. 31

  • Toiletry items for women and children from birth to teens to benefit Alternative House in Lowell, MA. 
  • New toiletry items including baby wipes, diapers, hair care products, feminine hygiene products, soap, razors, and more can be dropped off in the donation box located in the Community Area of the library’s first floor 
  • The TDTC is also sharing the AH Wish List and has a dedicated Give Butter! Find links here.  

AAA Cares Warm Clothing Drive | Nov. 20 – Dec. 23 

  • Join the Tewksbury branch of AAA Northeast in donating warm clothing including: coats, socks, hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves
  • Gently used items are accepted. All sock donations must be new, however
  • Homemade items such as hats and gloves will be accepted as well

Library hours are Monday through Wednesday 10am-9pm, Thursday and Friday 10am-5pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, and Sunday 1pm-5pm.
