High School Musical, Garden Club Holiday Event, Comedy Night Tix On Sale Now

The last TMHS Theater Company production sold out; ladies sparkle at floral gala

Jerry Caruso, cofounder of Comics for a Cure, has been called the “Professor of Punchlines.” He’ll join with Boston-area standup regular Bob Sheehy, who combines a passion for true crime with comedy — really — to present an 18+ benefit show on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Tewksbury Elks. Proceeds will help pay for about $20,000 in programming not covered by the town, including popular regular offerings like one-on-one sessions with service dogs Benny, Misty and Diamond that help kids with reading anxiety build confidence. As always, the Elks will provide a cash bar and guests are welcome to bring in their own food. The show will start at 8 p.m., but doors will open at 7 p.m., so attendees have time to enjoy a meal and some conversation before the main event.

Tickets are $25. Purchases are fully tax-deductible as the Friends are a 501(c)3. You can get your tickets here or at the door (cash only). Just announced, Friends’ friend Vic Seto, of Vic’s Waffle House, will be the official greeter.

The annual Garden Club gala, themed “Blueprint for the Holiday,” will be held this year at the Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks on Wed., Nov. 8. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event runs from 7 to 9 p.m. The cost is $25 per person and includes a dessert buffet. Floral designer Michelle Nestor will demonstrate how to get your home ready for the holidays, from the front porch to the dining room table centerpiece. There will be refreshments, a gift basket raffle and more. For tickets, contact any Garden Club member, email tewksburygardenclub@gmail.com or call Tammy Ministeri at 978-455-8446.

The TMHS Theater Company will present its fall musical, High School Musical, this November. High School Musical is a story of finding your voice while growing strong as a school and community. According to the Musical Theater International Website, High School Musical is G rated.

Shows are: Nov. 17 at 7 p.m., Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 and are on sale now at www.showtix4u.com — organizer Celeste Pellegrino says she encourages residents to purchase tickets ahead of time as sales at the door may be limited.
