Today is the last day to buy Soldier On 50/20 raffle tickets
Did you know that Tewksbury has a provider of local, sustainably raised and sourced meats right here in town? Select Board Chair Todd Johnson, above with Walden Local CEO Nancy Pak, helped celebrate a ribbon-cutting event marking construction of the company’s new office space at 1668 Shawsheen St., adjacent to its warehouse in what was the Northeast Refrigeration facility.
“We’re really honored to be proud residents of Tewksbury,” said Pak, who thanked the town for supporting the company’s efforts.
The warehouse is 37,000 sq ft with 2,800 pallet spaces of frozen storage. Walden offers about 2,000 of those spaces as rentable frozen storage space for smaller businesses in the area. Because other frozen-storage facilities have been shut down or bought out privately, the company wanted to provide an opportunity for local small businesses to store their products. Walden Meats has just over 100 employees and offers free delivery of its meat shares.
If you wish to support the Soldier On golf tournament by purchasing 50/50 raffle tickets, today is the final day. The 50/50 raffle tickets are priced based on quantity, $5 through $20. Buy them here. The Tewksbury Democratic Town Committee invites residents to its annual Summer Social on Tuesday at Luna Rossa beginning at 6 p.m. There will be light refreshments and door prizes. This is an opportunity to catch up with friends, neighbors and our elected officials before we all get swept into back-to-school. Come a little early for dinner. Overflow parking across the street.
