Mailbag: Savings Incentives for Kids, Soldier On Swag

Plus, AgeSpan seeks meal delivery drivers

Tewksbury Federal Credit Union is announcing a “Summer Saving is Sweet!” challenge for new and existing members age 13 and under. Kids and parents can come in and pick up a participation card then make three deposits between June 30 and Aug. 31 to earn a coupon for one free ice cream or donut from a local shop. Participants who complete the challenge will also be entered into a raffle for an Amazon gift card to be drawn on Sept. 1. And, through July 31, TFCU will also cover the $25 membership fee for new members under the age of 18.

The General Dynamics Solider On Golf Tournament Committee would like to invite Soldier On friends, families and supporters to show their support even if they are not golfers. You can contribute by purchasing swag, representing with a tee sign or participating in the 50/50 raffle. Tee signs are available for $125, while 50/50 raffle tickets are priced based on quantity, $5 through $20.

Swag, tee signs, more swag, and 50/50 raffle tickets can be purchased here. The Solider On Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 18 at Wyndhurst Manor & Club. Swag sales close Friday, July 21; tee sign sales close Wednesday, Aug. 2; and 50/50 raffle ticket sales close Thursday, Aug. 17.

AgeSpan, which provides meals and assistance for Tewksbury seniors, is looking for volunteer drivers age 18 and over to deliver meals to home-bound clients. A valid driver’s license and a background check are required. AgeSpan provides mileage reimbursement and free training and offers flexible schedules requiring just a few hours per week with no nights, weekends or holidays.
