Residents can enjoy a sunny evening on the patio and hear from three local nonprofits
100+ People Who Care Tewksbury, the local chapter of the 100 Who Care Alliance, announced the three local nonprofits that will present to members and guests at the group’s Q2 Giving Event, to be held tonight at Wamesit Lanes beginning at 6 p.m.
The three nonprofits scheduled to present are:
Blanket Me is a hands-on mission to care for the homeless unable or unwilling to find shelter in the Merrimack Valley. The organization provides blankets, coats, hats, gloves, food, etc. And hugs.
Community Giving Tree helps low-income families in northern Massachusetts raise healthy children by providing recycled clothing, baby equipment, and other basic necessities.
Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural life of our community through activities at our library. Donations from our members and businesses allow us to fund programs and services not covered by the Town budget including both in person and virtual cultural programs such as movies, music, author visits, lecturers, educators, performers and more.
At tonight’s event, 100 People Tewksbury members will hear from representatives of these three nonprofits and award more than $10,000 to one cause as voted on by members. The two nonprofits not selected will receive $250 from our two generous sponsors, Al Fresca and Salem Five Bank, as well as optional donations from members.
Social hour will run from 6 – 7 p.m., and the meeting will promptly begin at 7 p.m. Interested residents are cordially invited to attend, with no obligation to join or donate. The 100+ People organization is always seeking new members. To learn more or to apply to join as a member, please see our website here or drop by tonight’s event.
The 100 People Board is also seeking new board members to help with running this volunteer organization. Interested parties should submit an application form here.
