Overnight Lane Closures Will Affect Tewksbury

Overnight lane closures on I-495 southbound between Route 38 and Route 3A overpass begin tomorrow at 8 p.m.

SAUGUS – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing lane closures on I-495 southbound between the Route 38 interchange and the Route 3A overpass in Chelmsford and Lowell.

The closures are scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 31, and will continue through Wednesday, June 21 on a Sunday through Friday schedule, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each night. The lane closures will allow crews to conduct maintenance resurfacing operations safely and effectively.

Double lane closures will only be in use after 10:00 p.m. Safety signs, traffic control devices and police details will be used to guide drivers through the work zone.  

Drivers who are traveling through the impacted areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.  

All work is weather dependent and subject to cancellation or modification.
