Town is partnering with NMCOG, DHCD to think about how to use CPA and other funds
Residents are invited to join Tewksbury on Thursday, March 16 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., via Microsoft Teams, to discuss the results of a recent housing survey; the housing production plan process; and how the town can work toward better, more affordable housing.
These activities all contribute to the completion of the Town’s Housing Production Plan for 2023-2027. The town is working with the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments (NMCOG) to update its Housing Production Plan, a plan that guides the town’s decisions on how to support affordable housing, what kinds of housing development or redevelopment the town hopes to create and how the town and its partners can work toward making sure all kinds of families and people can afford a home that meets their needs.
At the workshop, the NMCOG housing planning team along with town staff will present findings from a recent housing survey and proposed action items to address local housing needs. Participants are encouraged to discuss possible strategies to create a vision for equitable, affordable housing in Tewksbury.
The Town of Tewksbury Housing Production Plan for 2023-2027 serves as a framework for considering Comprehensive Permit projects, zoning changes, Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) expenditures, Community Preservation Act (CPA) fund expenditures and other actions the town and its partners can undertake to increase the supply of affordable housing.
The project is supported by a NMCOG District Local Technical Assistance grant funded by the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).
