Residents Invited to Tour Tewksbury’s Center Elementary School on Saturday

New $98 million facility will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to noon

Superintendent Brenda Regan invites residents to a Public Grand Opening Open House for the new Center Elementary School this Saturday, Feb. 4.

All are welcome, but Regan notes that children must be accompanied by an adult, and the event will begin precisely at 10 a.m. and end promptly at noon.

Tomorrow, Friday, there will be a formal ribbon cutting that is by invitation only; the Carnation will be there and will share photos. That event will celebrate the current and former elected officials, contractors and staff who were instrumental in opening the school on time and slightly below the allotted $98 million budget — a significant accomplishment given that the foundation was poured in August 2020, at the height of Covid, and construction has proceeded through supply chain challenges and high inflation.

Students have been in the new school since Jan. 5.

These posts are from the great organizations around Tewksbury that provide updates to the Carnation.
