Letter: Scholarship & Paid Intern Ops from the Mass Democratic Party

Each year, students have the opportunity to learn about the ins and outs of Massachusetts politics through our JFK Scholarship & Joe Moakley Internship Program.

JFK Scholarship recipients are expected to be active participants in democratic organizing or other political work. JFK Scholarship recipients may intern with the MassDems.

Joe Moakley interns will learn about voter registration, organizing events, assisting the delegate selection process and preparing for the 2023 Convention.

In the past, our interns have worked on communications projects, such as creating graphics for social media, assisted with Coordinated Campaign and convention efforts, learned how to use Votebuilder and create canvassing plans for candidates, attend events with elected officials, and participated in Brown Bag lunches with special guests!

Please note that the program is a part-time, in-person internship that runs June 12 to August 4 and averages about 15 hours per week. Does this sound interesting to you or someone you know? Then I encourage you to apply for our upcoming in-person summer internship at massdems.org/intern.

Applications are due March 10, so don’t hesitate to contact me at hannah@massdems.org with any questions.

Best,
Hannah Benson
