Thanks Kyoto for providing space for a pop-up food drop off! Plus: CHOCOLATE
Tewksbury’s newest state representative, Vanna Howard, is running a Spice Drive tomorrow. Residents who wish to donate items but don’t want to drive to Lowell — or who want to give to both that drive and our own Tewksbury pantry — can drop items at our pop-up collection site TONIGHT.
Come by the former Auntie Dog studio, adjacent to Kyoto at 1487 Main St., between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Team Carnation & friends will pack up donations and deliver them on Saturday to our neighbors in Lowell and the Tewksbury Community Pantry.

A cold Saturday is a great time to drop into the Library for snacks and a movie on the big screen. This week’s presentation is Black Adam, and the film starts at 2:30. Black Adam is rated PG-13, and the run time is 2 hours. This event is open to teens in grades 6-12 only. Spaces are limited so sign up now. This program is supported by the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library.
The Library is also offering technology help this afternoon and a showing of Tar tonight. Check out the calendar.
If you don’t know about Lowell Makes, check out the website. There are several events this weekend, from a movie to Shibori fabric dyeing at 1:30 Saturday led by Tewksbury’s own Christy Matte. You’ll come away with a gorgeous blue work of fabric art that can be used for things like pillows and curtains, or just enjoyed as wall decor. You can also dye clothing, bags and other items made out of natural fibers.
Tickets are $75 for non-members, plus a $10 materials fee. Members receive a 20% discount on their ticket. Full details available via the ticketing link.
On Sunday, the Chocolate Expo visits Shriner’s Auditorium from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. The Chocolate Expo will feature performances, demonstrations and lectures including comedy mentalism & magic shows by Peter Gross of the Boston Hysterical Society. For children, there will be free face painting, balloon twisting and craft activities.
“Timed-entry” tickets will help to ensure a smoother flow of guest arrivals throughout the day, but guests can stay as long as they like once inside the event. VIP ticket holders can arrive at any time during the day. For more details, go to http://www.ChocolateExpo.com.
