The Library is hosting several food-related programs this week along with an appreciation reception on Saturday for members of the Friends of the Library. And if you missed the Applefest this year, you can find many of the same crafters on Saturday at the Shawsheen Tech Fall Fair.
Monday, Nov. 14
Planning Board
When: 7 p.m.

The Planning Board will circle back on applications by Auntie Dog and Wamesit Lanes and address an approval not required application for a residence at 40 Longmeadow Rd. Agenda.

Using Cluster Research To Break Through Genealogical Brick Walls

The Tewksbury Genealogy Group is open to everyone who’s interested in genealogy. Each meeting — which will take place via Zoom — consists of a presentation from a guest speaker (typically a professional genealogist), followed by a period where members can briefly share their latest genealogy research, and then the library will share a genealogy resource its patrons can access for free.
The month’s featured presentation is about how FAN research — research into an ancestor’s friends, associates and neighbors — might help you answer your questions.

Council on Aging

The Council on Aging will get a preview of December events and review medical emergency procedures.
On Tuesday afternoon from 3 – 4 p.m. the Senior Chorus will hold a practice session.

The Tewksbury Congregational Church invites all members of the community to come out for a free turkey dinner.
Preserving Family Recipes: How To Save & Celebrate Your Food Traditions
When: 7 – 8 p.m.

From your uncle’s barbecue sauce to your grandma’s cobbler, family recipes fill us with nostalgia and draw us closer to family – if they have been saved and if they actually work, that is. So what can you do if a beloved recipe is sketchy, horribly outdated, impossible to read or unwritten? Join this program to find out.

Rainbow Social

This month’s meetup for LGBTQ+ seniors and friends will be held today at the Senior Center. There will be food and a fun activity.
Friday, Nov. 18
Zoo Lights

Where: Stone Zoo
The annual Zoo Lights exhibit opens tonight and runs through Jan. 8. Find tickets here.
Silvertones Dance
When: 7 p.m.
Where: Senior Center
Tickets may be purchased for $10 at the door. Cake, coffee and tea will be served, and soda and bottled water will be available for purchase.
Weekend
Shawsheen Tech Fall Fair
When: Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Where: Shawsheen Tech
Shawsheen Tech will host its annual fall fair on Saturday. This event is free and open to the public. There will be more than 100 vendors along with concessions and raffles. The event will take place in the school cafeteria and gymnasium. Please note that payment types will depend on the vendor. Proceeds to support the Freshman Orientation Program and Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Music & Movement with Jennifer Gadbois
When: Saturday, 10 – 11 a.m.

This kids program is sponsored by Community Teamwork Incorporated.
Friends of the Library Membership Appreciation Event
When: Saturday, 11 – 12:30 p.m.
