Gallery: Tewksbury Garden Club’s Last Floral Gala at the TCC

Last night marked the final Garden Club flower arranging lesson, raffle and dessert buffet at the Tewksbury Country Club.

Garden Club president Sue Pedersen thanked Marc Ginsburg and his family for their support over the years and said that the event will return in 2023 — with an exact venue TBD.

Pedersen also said that the turnout was above expectations and that the club did well on fundraising. The group is seeking new members who are interested in keeping Tewksbury beautiful.

The check-in table did healthy will-call and door sales thanks to Cheryl Petrola and Sue Appleby.

Garden Club member Rita O’Brien Dee acted as the welcoming committee …

… along with Joan Unger-Harmon and Yvonne Hall.

Muriel Nastasi and Sue Pedersen brought the 50/50 raffle up close to $500.

Members Debbie Takach Adams and Rose O’Neill managed raffle ticket sales.

Each Garden Club member donated a raffle basket and a dessert.

Floral designer Kathy Leva shared some fundamentals of arrangements. One bit of bad news: There were few carnations, as Leva says they’re hard to come by right now.

Lucky winners went home with some of the arrangements.
