The votes are counted in Tewksbury, and Geoff Diehl bested Chris Doughty on the Republican side by a vote of 1,182 to 742, with 1,941 voters pulling R ballots.
Maura Healey took 2,544 votes. While Sonia Chang-Diaz was on the ballot and received 409 votes, she withdrew from the race. D ballots were pulled by 3,018 residents.
There are 24,162 registered voters in Tewksbury, with 4,959 taking part in the primary. For comparison, in the last state primary, in 2020, there were 23,509 registered voters, and 8,163 took part in the election. Just 2,271 took part in this April’s local election.

Kim Driscoll was the top D vote getter for lieutenant governor with 1,474, while Leah Allen received 1,111 on the R side.
Shannon Liss-Riordan picked up the Tewksbury D nod for attorney general with 1,202 votes. Bill Galvin dominated with 2,341, while Diana DiZoglio earned 1,850.
