Shawsheen Tech Swimming Class Signup

Shawsheen Tech will hold registration for the Fall Learn to Swim Program on Monday, August 29; Tuesday, August 30; and Wednesday, August 31 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the school’s pool hallway. Lessons run from Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022 to Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, with no classes on Columbus Day weekend. Class times are staggered between 9 and 11 a.m.
EIGHT 30-minute lessons for beginning swimmers cost $125. (Early-bird pricing with cash or check will be $105.) EIGHT 60-minute lessons for more advanced swimmers cost $250.

Peach Festival at Billerica Farmers Market

Enjoy a concert from The Broken Heels, a Boston-based cover band specializing in modern hits and 60’s to 90’s rock. The band covers current acts like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Olivia Rodrigo, and Adele, as well as favorites from Gen X and Gen Y childhoods. And they certainly won’t ignore the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, with Bruce Springsteen, Queen, Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac and more on the playlist. Be prepared to dance the night away!

Contrary to some signs you may see along state roads, there are no National Parks in Massachusetts. There are, however, 16 different locations in the state that are under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service – they represent a variety of “unit designations” ranging from historical sites to recreation areas to a National Seashore. Our guide Steve Farrar will take us on a tour of local places that can give us a taste of the National Park Service right here in our own backyard (or at least within distance of a day trip).
