Former Wood Haven Property To Be Sold at Auction On Monday

The former Wood Haven nursing home facility at 2580 Main St. will be sold at auction on Monday, August 1 at 10 a.m. to satisfy creditors. The sale includes the property itself as well as fixtures and items used in the business.

The lot is 6.99 acres in size and within the South Village Business district. That zoning is meant to “support small-scale, attractive, neighborhood-focused development and business uses that do not require high traffic volume locations.” Some types of housing are allowed either by right or with Planning Board approval. See the list of “SB” uses beginning on Page 44 of the Zoning Bylaw.

As reported in the Tewksbury Town Crier, the Wood Haven facility began removing residents in January because of issues with the sprinkler system, and it never reopened.

Community/economic development planner Alexandra Lowder said the town has not “heard anything substantial” about potential buyers of the property.

Current owners of record are Tewksbury Living Group LLC, EC Tewksbury LLC and MH Tewksbury Operating LLC.
