5 New Municipal Job Openings In Tewksbury

The town has posted some new opportunities.

1. Camera Technician, Tewksbury Telemedia, Part-time, minimum $40 per broadcast, additional $20 per hour when broadcasts exceed two hours.

Reporting to the Director of the Telemedia Department, the Camera Technician will assist in filming, recording and broadcasting municipal meetings and community events, including sporting events.

Requirements: Two years minimum experience working, volunteering and/or training in video production is required. Experience operating PTZ and professional field camcorders is required. Experience with virtual meeting platforms is required. Experience working or volunteering in a public access television environment desired. Experience with live productions and streaming encoders is desired.

2. Chemist, Full-time $58,662 – $81,639

Manages the complete operation of the Water Treatment Plant Laboratory and assists in the supervision of the operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant. Maintains and improves the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control. Performs all other related work as required.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, biology or bacteriology; demonstrated ability to apply laboratory test results to the Water Treatment Plant operations and in the resolution of operational problems; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license. Yearly Laboratory Certification. Water Treatment license preferred.

3. Public Safety 911 Dispatcher (multiple positions) – $44,880 — $60,459 with differential

Under general supervision, performs work involving answering emergency and non-emergency voice and TTY/TDD (telecommunication devices for the deaf) and dispatching appropriate response units. Employees in this classification are responsible for entering information into computers, providing life-saving and pre-arrival instructions to callers in medical emergencies, and maintaining contact with callers and response units while enroute as needed. Relays information to law enforcement agencies on suspects and wanted persons. Employees in this classification are central to the preservation of life, health, safety and property for citizens, public safety employees, and others.

Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; supplemented by successful completion of in-house and Commonwealth of MA training; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates who possess certifications in EMD, 91 1, CPR and AED, IMC, and CJIS are preferred. Candidate must have the ability to maintain CJIS Certification; certification from APCO as a PST 1 or equivalent is preferred. Candidate to become certified in Next Generation 911 systems through the MA State 911 Department and in TTY hearing impaired equipment. Must pass a stringent Criminal Background check

4. Senor Account Clerk, $36,624 – $50,481

Position provides shared specialized professional and administrative clerical work of more than ordinary difficulty and responsibility in relation to all phases of the Auditor’s Office and Human Resources Department.

Requirements: Candidate for this position should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years bookkeeping, accounts payable, typing, computer, and office experience dealing with the public, or an equivalent and relevant combination of education and experience. Municipal experience is a plus.

5. Professional Librarian, $59,933 – $74,841

Performs supervisory, administrative and professional work in planning, organizing and coordinating all information and technology services. Maintains and improves the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control. Performs all other related work as required.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in Library Science; two years library experience and formal training in Reference Services. Demonstrated competence in technologies used by libraries; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Training or experience in the conservation of archival materials in preferred. Candidacy for Massachusetts Certificate of Professional Librarianship.
