Residents Advised to Avoid Bridge & Shawsheen Intersection Beginning Tomorrow

As part of the project to construct sidewalks along Shawsheen St., the intersection of Shawsheen St. and Bridge St. will be reworked to provide a safer experience for those looking to merge on or off Bridge to or from Shawsheen.

That intersection is considered one of the more dangerous in town and was the scene of a recent serious motorcycle accident that illustrates the need for better sight lines.

Construction is scheduled to begin on or around tomorrow, July 12, and is expected to take three to four days to complete.

Driveways will be accessible for residents and guests throughout construction. However, the intersection will be busy for the next few days, so residents should expect delays and allow more time than usual when driving through the area. If possible, the town asks drivers to avoid the intersection entirely.
