Saturday hikes continue
The Tewksbury Open Space & Recreation Committee and the Tewksbury Public Library are hosting a series of guided, 2 mile easy hikes on Saturdays to showcase the town’s open spaces. This week’s Chandler Well Fields walk was close to full today (three spaces left but there is a waiting list), but there’s space left for the July 16 walk through the Tewksbury State Hospital Pines Cemetery.
Golf & silent auction for veterans
On Saturday, the Atkinson Resort & Country Club will host the third annual VFW Post 8164 Golf Tournament to benefit VFW Community Veterans Activities, Patriot Pen, Voice of Democracy Scholarships, VFW National Home for Children and in support of Salute Military Golf Association (SMGA) and Clear Path for Veterans New England. Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m., tee-off at 8 a.m. The cost is $135 per person, which include an 18-hole round of golf, breakfast and lunch. Apply now for property tax exemptions
The Assessor’s Office is now accepting Fiscal Year 2023 Exemption Applications. Please note that, at the 2021 Annual Town Meeting, the Town voted to increase the exemption amount granted for the 41C exemption, which applies to those over 65 who meet certain asset and income limits, to $1000. Others who may qualify for exemptions include some veterans and those who are legally blind. For more information on the exemptions offered, please visit the Assessor’s Exemption information webpage.
Applications are available online, or a hard copy can be picked up in the Assessor’s Office, located at 11 Town Hall Avenue. The town will also mail you an application if you call 978-640-4330.
Applications were already mailed to residents who received a Veteran or Blind exemption for Fiscal Year 2022 so they can reapply. All others will be mailed July 8.
Everything Everywhere All At Once to be screened
On Friday at 2 p.m., enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood’s latest films — Everything Everywhere All At Once.
