The Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library have published two new volunteer opportunities on their website. FoTPL president Mary Ann Taylor says volunteers don’t need to be members, and they won’t be left on their own.
“We’ll make sure to have someone experienced there with them,” said Taylor. “We’d love to see some new faces at the Friends table.”
The first need is to support the new Library at Livingston day, which will kick off the 2022 Summer Reading programs. Each library department will have summer reading signup tables, and there will be crafts for kids and teens. T-Rex will be there for a meet and greet and photos, plus residents can enjoy two food trucks. The Friends will also sponsor a children’s concert at 3:30 p.m. and a concert for adults and families at 5:30 p.m.
Volunteers are needed to staff a table. There are two-hour slots available on Friday, June 24, between 3 and 7 p.m.
The Friends are also looking for helpers to staff a table and sell raffle tickets before the Summer Music Series concerts, which are held on Mondays from July 11 through August 29, weather permitting. The volunteer window is 5:30 to 6:50 p.m., and volunteers are invited to stay for the shows.

The Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library is a nonprofit organization that annually funds about $20,000 in programming, museum passes and activities that are not covered by the Town budget. The FoTPL also sponsors book and puzzle donation drives, hosts dine-outs like the recent “breakfast for dinner” at Vic’s and supports community events.
The Friends meet on the first Wednesday of every month, and new members — and new ideas — are always welcome.
