Saturday To-Do List: Donate Clothes, Buy Plants, Drop e-Waste, Win Gift Basket

Residents willing to brave the heat on Saturday can get a lot done while supporting the Tewksbury Garden Club, Community Pantry and Friends of the Library.

1. Community FUNDrive. Raise your hand if you have been driving around for months with a bag of clothes in your trunk to donate 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏼‍♂️

This Saturday, the Parent Advisory Councils of all Tewksbury lower elementary schools are joining forces to raise money for the Tewksbury Food Panty! Stop by the Heath Brook Elementary school at 165 Shawsheen St. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and drop off any soft goods for donation — clothes, shoes, bags, blankets, curtains, towels, tablecloths. 2. Plant Sale, Raffle & Food Drive. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Library the Tewksbury Garden Club will sell a variety of hardy, locally grown perennial plants; herbs, tomatoes and vegetables; and the popular hanging bags of begonias. There will also be a free kids’ activity of sunflower kits. You can pay by cash or credit card. 

In addition, the Friends of the Tewksbury Library will offer a great selection of raffle baskets, and you can drop off needed items for the Tewksbury Community Pantry.

Plant sale proceeds help support our town gardens, scholarships and various community groups. Payment methods: cash or credit card.

3. Electronics Recycling Event. Also from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., residents from all towns are welcome to drop items at at St. William’s Church. All electronics, appliances, items with a plug and/or batteries, as well as bicycles in any condition will be accepted and recycled for a small cost as follows:

  • $5 each for computers, DVD players, printers, laptops, small electronics
  • $10 each for microwaves, small household appliances
  • $15 each for computer monitors, large printers, range-top microwaves
  • $20 each for TVs up to 24,” dorm-size refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers
  • $25 each for TVs between 25” and 31,” washing machines, dryers, stoves, large appliances, grills, exercise equipment, large yard equipment
  • $30 each for TVs between 32” and 35,” large refrigerators
  • $35 each TVs over 36”
  • $40 each for Projection TVs

    NO CHARGE: Cell phones, bicycles in any condition, wires, vehicle batteries, yard equipment batteries, household batteries, keyboards, tablets. The event will be rain or shine.
